High-end Movie Theater to Open in Baku

The latest in a series of high-end movie theaters, built by Azerbaijani-owned and operated, Cinema Plus, will open in Baku's Aygun City Shopping Center soon.

The new movie theater, the fifth built by the Cinema Plus chain, will reportedly have the most advanced and up to date technologies in order to screen movies to specifications of American movie studios and from around the world. This is the second cinema to open in the Baku suburb of Bakikhanov, in addition to the Bilgah Beach Village theater.

The Cinema Plus, chain of theaters includes four movie theaters. Currently, two are situated in the 28 Mall, the largest mall in Azerbaijan, and in the Ganjlik Mall shopping complex in Baku's City Center. Another theater also recently opened in Azerbaijan’s second largest city, Ganja.

Dolby Atmos, the state of the art sound technology, by the Dolby Company, was first introduced in Cinema Plus's Ganjlik theater.
