Renat Dadashov, the striker for the national football (soccer) team of Azerbaijan, has been transferred to the English Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers. The team announced Dadashov’s signing on Tuesday.

"Renat is an exciting prospect," Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell said according to BBC. "When working in the transfer window, we are not only focused on the present, but also the future, and in Renat, I'm very hopeful we have secured a signing who will develop into a fantastic footballer in the future."

The 20-year-old Azerbaijani left the Portuguese team Estoril to sign a four-year contract with the Premier League squad. He scored four goals during his one year with Estoril during the 2018-2019 season.

Dadashov will make his first appearance as part of the Wolverhampton Wanderers next season at the Molineux Stadium after he does a season-long stint with another Portuguese team, Paco de Ferreira.

“Renat has all the characteristics we look for in a Wolves player and now departs for Pacos de Ferreira determined to develop into an even better footballer for his return in a year’s time,” Thelwell said, according to Birmingham Mail.

The Azerbaijani footballer was the fifth summer signing for the English team, after the Real Madrid’s defender Jesus Vallejo, Italian striker Patrick Cutrone, and the Portuguese stars winger Pedro Neto and midfielder Bruno Jordao.

Dadashov made his debut as a center-forward on Azerbaijan’s national men’s team in September 2017. In 2015 and 2016, he played for the German teams U16 and U17.
