Azerbaijan Airlines Increases Flights to Tbilisi

Passengers on Azerbaijan Airlines, popularly known as AZAL and the national air carrier of Azerbaijan, will be able to fly the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route eight times per week beginning March 28, and ten times per week as of May 2, according to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.

AZAL’s departures to Tbilisi are scheduled for Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Additional flights on Sunday will be added later in the month, with additional segments on Tuesday and Thursday starting in May, all aboard Airbus A319 commercial aircraft.

AZAL is the largest air carrier in Azerbaijan, with international flights to destinations that include the US, Germany, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and etc.. The company’s fleet includes aircraft manufactured by Boeing, Airbus and Embraer. AZAL’s New York flights are conducted using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

AZAL also serves through AZAL Jet, a low-cost flight subsidiary passenger airline.
