Georgia’s second International Dance Festival kicks off in Tbilisi on Friday, bringing dancers and choreographers from around the world to the South Caucasus.

“Throughout three days we will hold dancing evenings featuring the stars. Moreover, there will be an opportunity to dance with the stars and other invited dancers,” read a message from the event’s organizers and posted to Facebook.

The festival, which runs from April 28 – May 1, will feature dances and international styles as varied as the Latin world’s salsa, bachata, and cha-cha-cha, to African kizomba.

Attendees include choreographers such as Russian Juana Velichkovskaya, Azerbaijani duo Sanan Huseynli & Jamila, Georgian Sopho Esitashvili and Miro Ghazarian from Armenia. President of the Georgian National Social Dance Federation Alex Karo and dance instructor Sofia Esitashvili will also be present.

Columbian Monica Conde, Greek Demy Stasinopoulou, Cuban Indira Reyes, Jose Francisco Rodriguez from the Dominican Republic, Javi Raza Negra from Peru and many others will also take part at the festival.

Leading choreographers will be holding master classes for both beginners and professionals within the framework of the festival, which is organized by the Georgian National Social Dance Federation and Salsa Caliente Tbilisi.

Georgia’s first International Dance Festival was held in the coastal city of Batumi in 2015.
