Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ FK football club have completed its next transfer.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian winger Oleksiy Kaschuk was recruited to the squad on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, valued at €1.8 million on Transfermarkt, joined Qarabağ FK as a free agent after parting ways with “Shakhtar” of Ukraine.
From 2019 to 2022, Oleksiy Kaschuk played on loan for "Mariupol" in Ukraine. His next stop was at "Sabah" in Azerbaijan during the 2022-2023 season.
The midfielder, who has represented Ukraine at all youth levels, was part of the national team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2019.
Oleksiy Kaschuk is the fourth transfer of Qarabağ FK in this summer transfer window.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani champions recruited Croatian goalkeeper Fabijan Buntic and his Polish counterpart Mateuzs Kochalski, as well as Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Addai.
In the 2024-2025 season, Qarabağ FK will play at the UEFA Europa League with Tottenham (England), Malmö (Sweden), Ajax (Netherlands), Bodø/Glimt (Norway), Lion (France), Elfsborg (Sweden), FCSB (Romania), and Olympiakos (Greece). The first game will take place on September 26 this year, with the last match scheduled for January 30, 2025.
Currently, Qarabağ FK ranks 61 among 400 squads in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) club world ranking for September.
