The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has claimed the 2024 Best of Asians title with victories in four major categories.
On Sunday, the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) revealed that the Best National Federation trophy went to the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation, putting Kazakhstan ahead of Uzbekistan and China, which each won three awards. Tajikistan followed with two awards, while Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, India, Iran, and Turkmenistan earned one each.
At the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Thailand earlier this month, Kazakhstan’s boxers won ten gold, four silver, and six bronze medals.
In May, the country’s young stars dominated the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Astana. They claimed 14 gold, nine silver, and one bronze medal. Some of these young champions are already competing for the national team.
Kazakhstan’s boxers aged 17 and 18 brought home 11 gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships, also held in Astana.
Kazakhstan made history at the Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva, winning 17 medals – six gold, one silver, and ten bronze – their best-ever result at the event.
In the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in the UAE, Kazakhstan’s junior boxers won three gold, four silver, and eight bronze medals. The younger schoolboys and schoolgirls teams added 12 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals to the country’s total.
