Famed Azerbaijani singer and songwriter Diana Hajiyeva has announced “Skeletons” as her entry for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held at the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine, from May 9-13.

Written by famous Azerbaijani composer and producer Isa Melikov and Sandra Bjurman, the song delivers strong electronic vibes whilst maintaining a ballad-esque pace. Hajiyeva will follow Azerbaijani duo Eldar Qasimov and Nigar Jamal, known as Ell & Nikki, who brought home a win for Azerbaijan in 2011 for their song “Running Scared.”

2017 marks Azerbaijan’s eighth year competing in the Eurovision Song Contest, popular throughout Europe and Eurasia. Azerbaijan hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, billed as “Light Your Fire!,” in what is widely regarded as the “glitziest” of all contests held and one of the most successful since the Eurovision Song Contests debuted in 2008.
