Azerbaijan Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary AZALJet began regular flights from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport to Azerbaijan’s Ganja and Gabala regions on Wednesday.

The opening of the Moscow-Ganja route was marked by a small event by AZAL’s Vice President Eldar Hajiyev and Director General of Vnukovo Airport Vasily Alexandrov.

Moscow-Ganja flights operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Moscow-Gabala flights on Thursdays, all on Airbus A320 aircrafts.

In addition to Vnukovo, AZALJet runs flights to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, Saint Petersburg (Pulkovo), Kazan and Mineralnye Vody. Regular flights from Ganja to Saint Petersburg are also offered.

AZAL is the largest air carrier in Azerbaijan. It offers international flights to destinations including the US, Germany, the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. The company’s fleet includes aircraft manufactured by Boeing, Airbus and Embraer.
